One of our good partners, DJ Waldow from Bronto, is leaving that company.  But he put together his “4 Key Lessons From The Trail” as his parting post to his blog:

1. Don’t BLAST: Never ever (ever) use the word blast in the same sentence as email or email marketing. Never. Blast is what space shuttles, Super Soakers, fireworks, and volcanoes do. Not strategic, smart email marketers.

2. Send timely, targeted, relevant emails to subscribers who have asked for them – also known as “The Perfect Email.”

3. Test. Then, when you are done testing, test again. Then retest. You get the idea.

4. “Email is free. Email marketing isn’t.” Enough said.

Good advice from an excellent email strategist.
